Would be nice to have a self contained portable version that stores logs inside a single folder with the app

This can be possible, but it would make some assumptions around the dependencies needed in order for the app to run.

The installer currently handles installing Webview2 (for non-Windows 11) and vcredist, both of which would need to be installed by the user prior. 👍

You can right click the .msi and select "extract contents"; will run portable-like. As a bonus, this takes 1 second, instead of 1 minute for some inane reason. (same when uninstalling)

Not sure what installs webview2 (edge?), but nearly everything uses vcredist so the user would 99% likely have that already. All I know is it worked fine with extracting on my system, and I'm on and older Win10 build.

Webview2 is an integral component of Microsoft Edge and does not need to be installed on Windows 10, as long as your system is not severely outdated and you didn't use third-party apps to cripple Microsoft Edge (but at that point is user error).
