have a dashboard, thar reads /status and renders everything in a nice way.
furthermore, this dashboard should be shown in an iframe overlay in the main page. it could be triggered via a small (?) button in top left corner.

maybe a stupid idea:
put the dashboard as /status or status/index.html
and move current /status implementation to /status/index.json. ... or something
