The Future of Contiki on Zigduino

Required

  • Battery Operation. I have yet to sleep my Zigduino nodes using Contiki yet, which is the one
of the things needed yet before the system could be put in production. Hopefully it does not unsettle the network and recalculate all the routes everytime a node awakes, or I'll have big problems.
  • HTTP POST. Need to post sensor readings to my PHP script for inclusion in the SQL database. Now that GET is working, POST should be easy.

Interesting

More things that it would be fun to do:

  • More IP Applications. Now that the nodes are on the network, we can explore more advanced applications, like the Coffee File system, the VNC servers, and more.
  • Examples. Everything so far are functionality tests. Next, I need to make some better real-life examples for all the scenarios.
  • Post to Pachube. Ultimately I'd like to post data directly to Pachube. That will only work when I have real-life IPv6 set up with global unicast addresses.
  • Energy Estimation. Contiki has an ENERGEST module which tracks everything that goes on, which should give us an idea of how much energy we expect to use.
