Since tfs are of different types, backend can be inferred from the type.

⋮
_type_backend_dict = Dict{DataType, Symbol}(TextFormat=>:text, ... )

function pretty_table(..., tf=unicode, ...)
backend = _type_backend_dict[typeof(tf)]
