Currently udevil creates mount points based on the volume label, which could be changed by the user, or there are multiple devices sharing the same label, and it would be problematic if you want to specify a device in a config file (for example, seeding directory for rtorrent on an external HDD).
However, the ID (WWN, etc.) of a disk is unique since they are tied to the hardware device instead of the FS, so if you mount an external drive and do something that requires a fixed path, it is now possible since the same ID always pointing to the same device.

I was just about to post a topic to the SpaceFM discussion forum asking whether this configuration option existed - I'd love to be able to get something like pmount's:

pmount /dev/sdc6 to automatically mount to /media/sdc6

but having read this PR, I think that I can assume that this is not yet possible. I hope that this, or something like this, gets pulled in. 👍
