List of Useful Ubuntu Scripts for Development

Get Started

To get started, cd into the directory and open your preferred terminal.

Run the script based on its name. For example,

sudo ./start-postgres

Extra Notes

Postgres Scripts

Requires postgres to be installed via apt according to the docs

Mongo Scripts

Requires mongodb to be installed via apt according to the docs

Check Version

Requires the neofetch apt package. To install run

sudo apt install neofetch

Switch Graphics Card

Must be followed by a restart. Used to switch between intel graphics and nvidia dedicated graphics. Tested on a Dell XPS 15 9570 running Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS using linux kernel 5.8.0-38-generic.

Update

Updates both snap packages and apt packages on machine.
