Together with the launch of JetPack 5.0, we're releasing a beta version of the F1TENTH driver stack on ROS 2 Foxy.

New Features:

  1. Full ROS 2 integration.
  2. Porting of VESC drivers to ROS 2.
  3. IMU messages are now available from the onboard IMU on VESC.
  4. Removal of throttle_interpolator node for better handling of speed control, more responsive driving, the car no longer coasts when publishing a 0 speed.
  5. New implementation of the mux node for better message pass through.
  6. Reorganization of topics, now publishing and subscribing are more streamlined.
  7. Docker containerized version of the driver stack.
