Additionally, you can use this for thumbnail testing - viewing your composition as a small image to see if elements are well defined. Instead of going to the bounds of your monitor, you could simply go down to something tiny like 300x400 and compose from there.

### Best way to get started with Hotsampling

To get started with Hotsampling, please see the steps below:

- Enable freecam, scout for a shot
- Choose best aspect ratio, select that aspect ratio in a size that will fit completely on your monitor
- Finesse / fine-tune the composition
- Do any ReShade adjustments if you do that sort of thing, do a test run with IGCSDof, that kind of thing
- When you’re happy with the end result, *select a larger resolution of the same aspect ratio*
- Remember to end your IGCSDof session first if you’ve done a test shot with it, you’ll need to render it again fresh once you’ve hotsampled larger
- Once the larger resolution is all loaded up, render IGCSDof if you’re using it
- Take the shot
- Change back to the smaller resolution again

@alert Tip
Tip: when you’re testing what the largest resolution is you can choose, multiply the width by the height and that gives you your megapixel amount. Keep track of what MP you can manage in specific games (each game may be different depending on how taxing its graphics are), and that makes it easy to know which size to go for in a different aspect ratio.
